シーネ・エイの来日公演がビルボードライブ横浜で年5月29日（月）に開催される。
極上の歌声で知られるデンマーク発のジャズボーカリスト、シーネ・エイ。77年生まれ、レムヴィ出身のアーティストだ。
オフィシャルサイトの経歴を見ると、シーネ・エイは、年に西ユトランド音楽院を卒業したあと、ニューヨークでアメリカのジャズシンガーであるジャネット・ローソンとジェイ・クレイトンに師事したという。また、10代の頃は地元のビッグバンドでアルトサックスを演奏しており、ジャズは彼女の人生において大きな部分を占めているそうだ。
シーネ・エイが惹かれたのは、ジュリー・ロンドン、サラ・ヴォーン、カーメン・マクレエ、カサンドラ・ウィルソン、ダイアン・リーヴズといった、低くて豊かな声を持つシンガーたち。伝統を尊重しながらも、新鮮なアプローチをする現代的な歌い手をリスペクトしていたという。
そして、小さなクラブやカフェでの演奏やツアーを経て、年にリリースしたセカンドアルバム『Waiting For Dawn』でデンマーク音楽賞を初受賞している。さらに、そのダークなボーカルと北欧ジャズの現代的な解釈は、ヨーロッパとアジアで高く評価された。

その後、ジャズスタンダード集の年作『Remembering You』（デンマーク語版は『Kun En Drøm』）、オリジナルとスタンダードで構成された年作『Don’t Be So Blue』（『ブルーな予感』という邦題でリリースされた）を発表。年には、ピーター・アースキンやデンマーク・ラジオ・チェンバー・オーケストラが参加した『The Beauty Of Sadness』をリリースした。ここでのミシェル・ルグランの名曲“The Windmills Of Your Mind（風のささやき）”は、低く深い魅力に満ちた彼女の歌声の真骨頂と言うべき名唱だ。

バイオグラフィー
シーネ・エイの特徴的なヴォーカルは、彼女の祖国であるデンマークと世界中に熱狂的なファンを増やしている。アメリカ、アジア、ヨーロッパ各国において、スカンジナビアの卓越したジャズヴォーカリストとして、その洗練されたライブパフォーマンスと数々の賞を受賞した作品が知られている。

Mens København blev omringet af ca. lyn, og de mange jazzfestivalgæster måtte søge ly, var de heldige mødt op på et udsolgt Drop Inn, klar til at modtage jazzens evnerige sanger og sangskriver, Sinne Eeg.
Et forventningsfuldt publikum sad tætpakket, klar, spændt allerede en time inden koncertstart. En koncert, jeg har set frem til længe, eftersom det er første gang, siden pandemien lagde Danmark ned, og al live-optræden måtte pauses for en stund, at jeg har fået mulighed for at opleve hende live igen.
Dog formåede Eeg faktisk at samle sit publikum under pandemien via sine onlinekoncerter på Facebook direkte fra dagligstuen i eget hjem, et lyspunkt i en mørk tid, tak for det.
