Todos lo conocemos como J Balvin, pero su nombre real es José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, quien salió de Medellín para convertirse en una gran superestrella del reguetón. Su infancia transcurrió, sin mayores sobresaltos, junto a su familia conformada por su padre, José Álvaro Osorio Sr, y su madre, Alba Balvin.
El conocer otras culturas llevó a J Balvin a viajar a Oklahoma, tras realizar un intercambio colegial. Tiempo después se trasladó a Nueva York, ciudad en la que empezó a interesarse por el movimiento de la música urbana.
