At the age of 12 years, resulting in the tragic death of his father, he became the new ruler and started a brutal struggle for power in Mawarannahr. During , while still a teenager, Babur participated in the battles of Samarkand, where he first met on the battlefield with his most powerful enemy, Sheybani Khan, who had an enormous impact on the fate of Babur. Bābur was a descendant of Genghis Khan and Timur and was a military adventurer, distinguished soldier, poet, diarist, and statesman. His autobiography, Baburnama, offers a rare insight into his life and the world he lived in.

Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur was the founder of the Mughal Empire in India. He was born on 14th February A.D. in Foreghana.
His father Umar Shaikh Mirza was the ruler of Forghana.
He descended from two Central Asian warriors; Timur, The Turkish hero from his fathers side and Changiz Khan, the great Mongol hero from his mothers side.

Therefore the blood of two great Heros of Central Asia was flowing in his veins. That made Babur bold and courageous. He had the proud feeling of being the successor of his two great ancestors. Hence he had the ferocity of a Mongol and the courage and ability of a Turk. His family belonged to the Chagatai section of the Turkish race, but he was commonly known as Mughal.
Forghana was a small state in Transoxiana (now a part of Turkistan). There was constant danger to Forghana as his father was not in good terms with his brother Ahmad Mirza, the ruler of Samarkand and Bukhara and his brothers-in-law, Mahmoud Khan and Ahmed, the rulers of Tashkent Sairemns Shahrukhin.
