Some of Duchamp's early works were featured at the Salon d'Automne and at the Salon des Indépendants the next year. Continuing his experiments with such major contemporary trends in painting as Post-Impressionism, Fauvism (Portrait of the Artist’s Father, ), and Cubism, he seemed to have no habit of any of them.
