Growing up in Chicago, I was privileged to watch Michael Jordan’s Bulls on basic cable tv for years. His game was poetry in motion and generational to watch. I have been on team Jordan my entire life to the point of not watching much of the current iteration of the NBA because most players don’t or won’t play defense. When I saw on my annual sports book preview that long time sports writer Jeff Benedict would be publishing a biography on James, I was intrigued. He is still playing and in the prime of his life and not one who would necessarily be the subject of a biopic.
